The essential argument of these super-wealthy individuals (and the author of the article) is that they must be forced — through taxation — to part with a portion of their wealth. They won’t take the initiative to write checks to the U.S. Treasure themselves. Why not?
Instead, they seek to impose confiscatory taxation on those recalcitrant wealth creators and entrepreneurs who are too busy investing and creating more wealth in the marketplace.
Before such taxation is hammered on the economy, the only alternative is to move productive wealth into non-productive safe havens (before even that becomes illegal).
It’s a recipe for economic decline.
