Certainly, you must have Ethos and Pathos. But to say that Logos is really not necessary defeats the entire premise of your article — that Aristotle’s THREE elements give a complete blueprint for persuasion and sales. To leave out Logos actually causes something else you mention, “Persuasion and salesmanship get a bad reputation. We associate it with liars, cheats and the ugly side of capitalism.”
